So you’ve been planning to get regular exercise. Here’s how to stop planning and start doing, because the benefits are just too many!

  • Make it part of your daily routine. Set a designated time aside for it every day when it is most convenient for you so that you stick to it.
  • Shake a limb! Dance is not only a good exercise but it also releases stress. To know about other stress-busters, click here

  • Find an exercise partner. Exercise is more fun with company. And when were together, theres sheer joy in either playing a sport or walking because quality time with loved ones is great.
  • If you use the bus or the metro, then get off the bus two to three stops earlier and walk home.
  • Park your vehicle at the farthest end of the parking lot when you go to the market, cinema halls, work or anywhere else.
  • Take on more responsibilities at home, like buying the groceries, buying the bread, running errands or cleaning. It will keep you active and fit. However, keep in mind your age and medical condition. We all know that this is not enough physical activity for most of us. One has to enjoy working out, focus on ones breathing in order to truly energize.
  • Walk up a couple of flights of stairs rather than take the lift, especially if you have to go up only three floors!
  • Take time to indulge in some sports or outdoor activity.
